There are lot of vinegrowers and wineries that have rolled up their sleeves in terms of sustainability with different social, economic, and environmental initiatives, even if it already is an eminently sustainable sector. Bodegas Manzanos remains committed to its sustainable strategy and adds yet another initiative: having installed 400 solar panels to guarantee coverage of a large percentage of its consumption.

Bodegas Manzanos reaches yet another milestone in its sustainable path, although its design and architecture already received the “Best of” award for sustainable practices, given by the Great Wine Capitals Global Network in 2008. The winery is built taking advantage of the unevenness of the land on a hill so that the part of the cellar that is underground allows the best environment for wine aging both thanks to the constant temperature of 11 ºC and the darkness and humidity. In addition, it uses gravity for winemaking. It is a design created by the oenologist and fourth generation of the family, Víctor Fernández de Manzanos, who sought not only to be efficient and profitable, but also sustainable.
