Viña Marichalar Winery

Viña Marichalar winery is located in Azagra, it was the first appellation Rioja winery of the family Fernández de Manzanos, and it was established when the appellation was created.

They started making Rioja wine that was sold in bulk until the family focused on selling by bottle because of the changes in price in the bulk wine market. They used the name Viña Marichalar because they had just bought the vineyards that they used to rent to the family Marichalar.

The winery is now being used and has recently been renovated to increase capacity to elaborate and age wine.
